Nana Akwasi Nyamekye Owusu-Afriyie was born on 7th October, 2018 by Mr. Jones Owusu-Afriyie and Mrs. Lydia Doosah.
Lydia Doosah is a committed and dedicated hard working nurse who has worked at the theatre for about 7 to 8 years and is very committed in the discharge of her duty at the ward. Lydia is so dedicated to the work of saving the life of the sick and dying patient at the edge of the knife on the theater table to the extent that, she sometimes has to put her own life on the line and perform certain duties that would have taken longer time to cost the life of the patient. Now, after all this sacrifices, Lydia has been exposed to a number of risk factors, which include radiations emanating from x-rays, drugs and other technology driven procedures.
Lydia throughout her period of pregnancy could not vacate her job due to the dedication, commitment and love of saving the life of others but continued to work for humanity. This sacrifice of service has affected her baby with a lot of birth defects (Congenital Abnormality) for her child. Her baby is now affected with hypospadias (wrongful situation of the urethral meatus), jaundice, respiratory distress and HOLE IN HEART ( AV Canal Defect). The baby cannot eat well due to weakness. The baby is now on life support medications to help him temporary. Doctors in Ghana said the surgical operation cannot be done in Ghana. They have referred the baby to India for the surgical operation which cost $15000.
We call on all individuals to come to the aid of this innocent child and help him raise this amount for the surgical operation.
God bless you
